Here are my first shots from Hurricane Sandy, in a small park across the street from our building in Brookline. Gusty winds, a sturdy tripod, a 10-stop neutral density filter, a 15 second exposure at f8 and frequent wipe-downs with a lens cloth gave me a few interesting takes, but I can’t decide whether it’s a color or a black and white shot.
The infamous October snowstorm that swept through town exactly a year ago today brought down a spectacular old cherry tree that used to live just to the right of the iron gate. We’re hoping the red maple fares better this time. I’ll try some more as the wind picks up.
Color one! :)
